Résumé : |
This work allowed us to perform a comparative study between the synchronous servers and asynchronous servers, during this study, we were able to notice after many tests that the server called ‘asynchronous” offers more performance and an optimized response time than the server called “synchronous”. We have chosen Node.js to represent the asynchronous servers and Apache-PHP to represent the synchronous servers. Theoretically, PHP and Node.js were equivalent, however in the performance tests, Node.js was just doing a great job handling all the requests. After all the tests made we see clearly that Node.js is way better than PHP is handling heavy duties. In the tests, we tried with 50 concurrent users at the same time with different number of rows fetched from the database for both Node.js and PHP. After the tests, PHP could not handle to get 10 000 rows (with 50 simultaneous users) from the database and the server died immediately, in the other hand Node.js struggled but was able to get 1 million rows (with 50 simultaneous users) from the database. After these interesting results, this work drive us to see and try other web servers and application servers and explore another way to program and develop using new technologies such as NoSQL database to optimize at best our web application. |
